A few weeks ago, my in-laws and their solicitor went to speak with the Town Hall people in Cuevas del Almanzora. 'How much longer is this going to take?' was to be the general thrust of their questions. They were told to come back in one week's time. On returning they were told the whole matter has now become a 'political issue' and that the best thing they could do was to contact others in the same situation and to make representations as a group through an 'independent' third party... Their most recent interaction has been with another 'local official' of some kind, who got them to fill out a form that supposedly will 'compel' the Town Hall to reveal the extent of the problems.
Grateful to anyone who can link me with others unfortunate enough to have money tied up in these Pozo del Esparto properties.
We too are caught up in this disastrous affair. Nearly three years down the line and no house. No sign of it coming to an end either. Have been fortunate to be in touch with Jan thanks Jan, trying to keep everyone posted with any more new info as and when we can. Lets all keep in touch . Mob handed is best eh!

Hi Janice,
I have located an excellent web site that has lots of info and several forums where people can chat and leave both public and private messages. The main web site is at http://www.viva-almeria.com.
There is a forum specifically for people who have an interest in the Pozo del Esparto site. Click on Viva Forums, then look under Residential Communities and you will see Pozo Del Esparto, San Juan de Los Terroros. If you click on this link it will take you straight there http://www.viva-almeria.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=32 If you register you can leave messages. Lots of info...
Where are you at the moment? Are you in Spain, or waiting it out in the UK? Do you have a plan of action? Or are you stuck not really knowing where to turn (much like my in-laws)?
One heck of a mess. Makes me cross.

Hi,
Many thanks for leaving a post on the weblog. Just seen it - been really busy last few days. I spoke with Iris on 30th. She mentioned that one or two have moved in - very risky, but I understand they were really desperate. I guess you are renting or staying with friends in the area? What a shambles. What is your understanding of the problem? Who do you feel is at fault - builder, town hall, seller's agent, solicitor???
Good luck, and keep in touch.
Bob.
PS. Tried emailing you as above but got an error message - 'Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table'
