Interesting information today from another buyer on the site. They were told by their estate agent Magellan SL that
Well, okay... But before we get too excited we should reflect for a moment upon the source of this wisdom. The agent had been speaking with the elusive Bert Holdorp - a man not best known for reliable pronouncements.
What is of interest is that Magellan SL said they would not be offering any new houses from the builder Crevisa 2 or Mr Holdorp's companies (the service agency ALBE and the promoter Estáras Playa SL) until all pending problems with old contracts are sorted in a satisfactory way.
Amen to that
Firstly let me say that I am wary of the following update, as like most here I have heard "another month, another month" too many times in the past ... but for what it is worth this is based on a phone discussion I had with Alma (Bert's wife?) earlier this AM.
According to Alma the end is nigh, that they have received a paper from the local government that all is in order, including the question over one house being too near the road.
Initially it seems the town hall did give the required provisional license, and Crevisa paid Euro45K or so for this license. Based on the fact the above paperwork was in place, the various lawyers were satisfied to pay client funds to Crevisa.
Once Crevisa went for the final paperwork to the town hall, the issues started. After a long period they bypassed the town hall and went to the local government instead (Deputation Almeria?). There was a "technical" from Almeria on site on Sept-21st that said all seemed ok, and this week Crevisa received a letter confirming this was so. Now they are preparing the papers that will go to the notary.
I'm not booking tickets for closing based on the above, but thought it useful to pass on information on the conversation .. .. I will also be asking our solicitor if they have had any update concerning an "official signoff" that might indicate some truth in the above.
She also made an interesting comment that the agents (Medsea in our case) already received their cut.

So anyway have any idea what the supposed problem with the roads might be? Also agree would tend to be wary, unfortunately, given the source of the news.
